Barsana is a historical town and the birthplace of the goddess Radharani, the consort of Krishna. The beautiful city is situated around two hills, namely, Brahma Hill and Vishnu Hill. Barsana is also famous for the celebration of the Holi festival, and these colourful earrings are simply on point.
Sarus is handcrafted with love in Uttar Pradesh’s villages by craftspersons and housewives who have little or no education. SFA Studio, a jewellery company set up by Sachin and Aarti of Delhi, provide villagers with artisanal skills training and employment opportunities. The craftspersons are paid fair wages and with the skills training, have access to sustainable streams of income. Indiigo Culture, in collaboration with SFA Studio, is proud to present our first collection of earrings, crafted from resin, thread, wood, beads, and hypoallergenic metals. Sarus is named after the Sarus Crane, the state bird of Uttar Pradesh, a symbol of eternal love, devotion, and good fortune.
